According to new polls from Gallup and Rasmussen, Obama is once again gaining ground on Hillary Clinton.
This marks the first time since March 4th that Obama has shown any upward momentum. Either the public is realizing that her wins on Tuesday in Rhode Island and Ohio weren't enough of a game changer to imporve Hillary's odds, or - more likely imho - Clinton's negative attacks are starting to backfire.
Either way, the polls show significant changes since the last polls. Gallup has a 9 point swing for Obama, who now leads Clinton 49%-44% (Hillary had a five point lead in the last Gallup poll). It's an 8 point swing on Rasmussen, with the new numbers at Obama 46% Clinton 44% (Hillary was up 6 last time).

Obama: dream ticket is a pipe dream
Per Daily KOS:
In comments that earned him a standing ovation, Obama responds to Clinton's talk of making him her VP:
“Now first of all with all due respect, with all due respect, I won twice as many states as Sen. Clinton. I won more of the popular vote than Sen. Clinton. I have more delegates than Sen. Clinton. So I don’t’ know how someone in second place can offer the vice presidency to someone in first place. If I was in second place I could understand but I am in first place right now.
[...]
“I don’t understand. If I am not ready, why do you think I would be such a great vice president? I don’t understand.”
“You can’t say he is not ready on day one, then you want him to be your vice president, I just want everybody to absolutely clear: I am not running for vice president. I am running to be president of the United States of America.”

SNL's in the tank for Hillary...
...but not in the way you might think.
I'm not going to get into the absurd way in which the political "news" arena has discussed SNL's tragically unfunny skits as if they were real-world events. What's interesting, however, is that no one in the media seems to be addressing the obvious bias, and asking why SNL feels it's their duty to appoint Hillary as the democratic nominee.
After Hillary began citing their skits as evidence of reality, Lorne Michaels was so thrilled he ordered his writers to pretty much pile on Barack until the primaries were over.
So, from this bizarre chain of events, you'd think that ole Lorne was a Clintonista who was using his show as a campaign tool for her right? Wrong... turns out, Lorne's a republican who has already hit the maximum donation for John McCain. So, he's probably ordering these skits because he thinks Hillary will be easier for his guy to beat.
See?
Ouch.

Rumor: Tucker to be cancelled tomorrow
Huffington Post is reporting that MSNBC will annouce the cancellation of Tucker Carlson (nee The Earl of Douchebag)'s Tucker tomorrow.
No word on who his replacement will be.
Please, God, don't let it be Pat Buchanan.

Stick THAT in yer goddamn peace pipe, ya stinkin' hippie!

You know, I'm kinda torn on this.
I love nothing more than seeing reporters receiving a nice toasty bitchslap. Especially when they ask vapid, irrelevant questions like this. I mean, seriously, asking about Kerry? Isn't there something about war and torture you should be grilling him on? Perhaps a nice hardball about the economy? John Kerry is not a critical issue in the 2008 campaign.
OTOH, I'm not comfortable with this kind of temperment in a our Commander-in-Chief. As much as I say I would love to see someone tell Putin and/or Musharraf to go fuck a badger, that doesn't mean I actually think electing someone who will no doubt do just that is a step in the right direction. Some things are best left unsaid, you know?
He would make a dandy press secretary, though.

Who REALLY called Canada?
In what is probably the biggest political bombshell you'll never hear about on about on cable news, both The Globe and Mail, and CBC.ca (also here) are reporting that NAFTAgate has blown up into quite a shitstorm in Ottawa, with opposition parties (both Liberal, and NDP, it seems) calling for a full RCMP investigation into the leaked memo that claimed Obama's campaign staff had told the Canadian government to disregard the Senator's remarks on pulling out of NAFTA.
What's most interesting in their coverage, however, is a VERY tasty tidbit in which it is disclosed that, from remarks made by Ian Brodie (chief-of-staff to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper) to a room full of reporters, it was actually Sen. Clinton's campaign that had contacted the Canadian government and told them the tough talk on NAFTA was bullshit.
Now, let me say this again...
According to the Canadian press, it was Senator Clinton's campaign that called the Canadian government and told them to take Hillary's anti-NAFTA rhetoric with a grain of salt.
Seriously...
Of course, this is not what was reported initially. Obama got hammered, by both the media and the Clinton campaign, for making this call and for being two-faced on this issue. Turns out, the Obama scandal was debunked. Now, in the wake of that, it turns out all the while Hillary was tarring Obama, she herself had her campaign do the same thing she was accusing him of.
How much do you wanna bet the media will keep these new revelations quiet?

Mr. Brodie downplayed those concerns.
"Quite a few people heard it," said one source in the room.
"He said someone from (Hillary) Clinton's campaign is telling the embassy to take it with a grain of salt. . . That someone called us and told us not to worry."
Government officials did not deny the conversation took place.
